Solar Panel Price In Nigeria

Current Solar Panel Price In Nigeria

Solar panels are the unsung heroes in a country like Nigeria with an erratic electricity supply. That is because they come in a fortune. We will come to that in a second.

But mounting solar panels above your roof is a good business, considering Nigeria is a tropical country with about 9 hours of average sunshine per day.

If you convert that much exposure, you get 5.5 kW of electricity for free each day–enough to power several appliances for a while.

But how much does a solar panel cost?

Below is a list of solar panel prices in Nigeria.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Solar Panel Provide Efficiency Power?

It does, but not as you would expect from NEPA.

According to sources, solar panels have a 15% to 20% conversion rate of the sun’s energy into usable electricity.

While it can power some household appliances, it isn’t running them 100% efficiently.

Is Solar Panel Dangerous?

I’ve never seen or heard of research that claims solar panels pose any health risks.

It does not have any adverse effects on health. It’s 100% eco-friendly; do your utmost to install and handle it correctly, thus adhering to manufacturers’ regulations.

Is It Safe To Sit On Solar Panels?

You can sit/walk on a solar panel without getting electrocuted, so long as it is properly installed.

But what’s the point, though?

I wouldn’t recommend walking on a fully functional panel, whether when doing maintenance or other activities on the roof, as there are chances of slipping and falling off.

Is There Any Disadvantages Of Solar Panels?

There is one in particular: when the weather denies you sunshine.

Solar energy systems can generate electricity in any climate, but not nearly as much as on sunny days.

The solar panel becomes utterly useless on cloudy days since it cannot absorb enough rays to produce electricity.

During fall or winter, homeowners rely on solar panels less.

How Long Can Solar Panels Last?

The longevity of a solar panel is what fascinates me the most.

Despite being maliciously hammered by the blistering sun and unforgiving storm/winter, a solar panel can last up to 25 to 30 years on average.

Most reputable companies even offer 25 years plus warranties. That said, it can span more than the estimated 30 years.

If it were monocrystalline solar panels, it could last up to (if not more than) 50 years since its substance (crystal) can drastically reduce potential failure points.

Conclusion

I get it that solar panels are so expensive.

And that kind of sucks for you if you’re on a tight budget. However, it is an investment that will pay in the long run because it’s a reliable and renewable source of electricity.

It may not be as efficient as NEPA, but the sun is not going anywhere anytime soon. It is expected to keep shining for billions of years, thus proving a long-term and sustainable energy source.

And that, my friend, is a significant reduction and elimination of your dependence on grid electricity. That means lower utility bills on your part.
